TITLE: Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) - Psychiatry
HOURS: Days (Mon – Fri.) (37.5 hours)
SETTING: Health Center - Behavioral Health Division
REPORTS TO: Medical Director
LOCATION: New Haven, CT
JOB SUMMARY: Under the Clinical Supervision of the Medical Director of the Behavioral Health Site and administrative oversight by the Program Director, the Psychiatric APRN is responsible for providing reasonable and prudent psychiatric/medical care. APRN will provide services to adult clients with mental health and substance abuse needs. Individual, group and family therapy services provided. Practices appropriate management and uses sound clinical judgment based on best practice standards. APRN conducts psychiatric evaluations, monitors medication and carries therapy caseload as directed. Functions as part of the clinical team and participates in chart review/peer review.

TITLE: Nurse Manager (Inpatient Psych)
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
SETTING: Medical Center / Behavioral Health Services Division
LOCATION: Connecticut (Fairfield-County)
JOB DESCRIPTION: Candidate will be responsible for the Nursing leadership of our inpatient Psychiatry Unit. Quality Management, program promotion for the recruitment, retention and educational development of staff and most importantly leading nursing into a new evidence based model of practice. Individual will administer, direct, and coordinate activities of Patient Care Adm. Individual will be responsible for recommendation, development and implementation of policies, procedures, and action plans. Keep the Director, Patient Care informed of both progress and potential problems. Nurse Manager will be responsible for the direction and evaluation of the delivery of patient care. Plans and maintains staffing pattern for the patient care unit. Counsels employees, staff and promotes open communication. Leads by example.

REQUIREMENTS:
• BS in Nursing required (MSN or MS in health administration preferred) • Minimum of 5-7 years Psychiatric work experience with Joint Commission process • Minimum of 4-solid years of Management/Supervisory experience/skills • Current Connecticut RN license (…or eligible) • Proven ability to achieve goals, lead and motivate a staff • Strong leadership and progressive management expertise
